Who are we?
Futures In Law provides advice, mentoring and counseling for aspiring, junior, and mid-career lawyers.
Consultant Kim Henderson BA LLB (Melb) enjoyed a successful and varied 40 year legal career encompassing:
Several years as an employee property law solicitor in a mid-tier regional firm.
Five years at the Victoria Bar practising in a variety of areas, but primarily as a criminal barrister.
Over twenty years as a solicitor in a large regional firm, including 19 years as a Principal, practising in the area of Family Law financial settlements, while also being responsible for the Articled Clerk (Graduate Trainee) Programme and Partner Welfare.
In 2012 Kim established 'Mediate First', a boutique firm, offering a range of non-litigious and non-adversarial solutions to Family Law financial settlements utilizing his accreditations as an arbitrator, mediator, Family Law Specialist and Collaborative Law Practitioner.
In recent years Kim reduced the scope of his practice to the provision of mediation services.
It's Kim’s exposure to a wide range of legal practices in his roles as a barrister, solicitor and mediator which has produced the skill set upon which 'Futures in Law' is based.
